Marin in the Flower Field

Bella Vista, Arkansas

Marin had a Wildflower Session in the wildflowers in Bella Vista. It was so much fun picking flowers, putting them in her hair, playing in the flowers at sunset. This session was absolutely the essence of childhood.

{{ Baby Zachary }}

Bentonville, Arkansas

I loved Zachary’s session and watching his parents love on him. It’s so neat when you can actually see a small peak into a babies personality while they are awake. Angela requested some orange for his newborn session. Orange is not a normal request for me. Since we had this conversation well before Zachary made his debut, I was able to do a little shopping before her due date and found some great orange wool fluff from Oh So Fleeting and the sweetest orange and blue bonnet by A Studio Prop – which came all the way from Australia!!! I love the combo and so glad Angela requested it.  As you probably know by now, I love little baby details – especially little lips and toes! Well, Zachary has some of the cutest lips and chin I think I may have ever seen!

Newborn Photography – Baby Lincoln – Northwest Arkansas

Baby Lincoln

Northwest Arkansas

This adorable little boy was not so happy the first time we met for his Newborn Portrait Session. I have to admit, it does happen occasionally – but it’s not the end of the world, I have bad days too. We got some sweet shots of him in the twig nest, Including some open-eyed shots. I’m willing to bet you can guess where he got his beautiful big eyes. After having a hard time settling down we shot his Mommy and Son portraits. When he still had a hard time settling down we decided to reschedule his session. I have many clients ask me if I ever have to reschedule sessions, it does happen but is a rare occurrence. I reschedule about one session a year – as best as I can guess.

About a week later I went to visit him at his home to see if we could get a few more shots. In looking around his home, I realize they had a small field right across the street, so we decided to shoot there. Lincoln sure slept so soundly outside.  After his little outside session we took a few in his amazing nursery. Lincoln’s daddy made his furniture – gorgeous! Check out his crib!

I love newborn photography, and I love that something that could’ve been considered a difficult call to make – turned into a gorgeous gallery for Lincoln’s parents.

Baby Bo – Custom Newborn Photography, Northwest Arkansas

Baby Bo

~ a custom newborn photography session ~

NWA Newborn Photography by Elaine Melinda Studio

It was so fun having Baby Bo in the studio for his newborn session. His parents were so amazing to hang out with. His daddy had the privilege of spotting while Bo’s Momma got pampered with hair and makeup by the talented Ashley Gregory. It was so much fun watching Nanci getting all dolled up for her “closeup”. This is something that I wish I would’ve done with our boys (hindsight = 20/20 right?). I’m just going to keep the idea in my back pocket for the next time {{wink wink}}.

Baby Bo was such a sweet darling and fun to work with. He decided to wake up, so I swaddled him up snugly for some of those awesome open eye shots that I’m not always able to get. I have to say that his family portraits with mom and dad are some of my absolute favorites {love}. I love to witness the new bond between parents and their babies – there is NOTHING quite like it. Melts the heart!
